Optical 22x and Digital 500x Zoom lens: The top-quality 22x (3.6-79.2 in 35mm equivalent) optical zoom covers everything from sweeping panoramas to action-grabbing telephoto shots. The high quality digital zoom increases the magnification to an incredible 500x.

Image Stabilizer: Equipped with a high quality image stabilization system, the ES55 instantly corrects camera shake, giving you smooth, stable pictures. It enables you to record shake-free images, even on long telephoto shots without a tripod. (Step-up feature from the ES50)

Built-in Video Light: With the ES55, fading light doesn't mean an end to the day's recording. Thanks to the built-in video light, you'll get clear, colorful images even in complete darkness! And since it is connected you don't have worry about losing it.

FlexiZone AF/AE: Because your subjects will often be off center and you will encounter less than ideal shooting conditions, Canon developed the exclusive FlexiZone AF/AE. Simply use the FlexiZone controller to align the "FlexiZone" in the viewfinder with your subject. You'll achieve perfect focus and exposure anywhere within the frame.

Point-and-Shoot Simplicity: When that great video opportunity arises, you may not have time to deal with focus, exposure and white balance. Fortunately, the ES55 can take care of all these details for you. Simply turn the camcorder on and you're ready to record.

High-Resolution Color Viewfinder: The high-resolution viewfinder allows you to see your subject in living color as you shoot, making it easier to compose each scene for maximum impact. You'll not only get better recordings, you'll have more fun making them too!

Time Base Corrector: Digitally processes the video signal for a more stable picture. This ensures better playback for viewing or copying.

Programmed Auto-Exposure: The ES55's Auto mode is ideal for everyday recording, plus there are four special exposure programs for diverse shooting conditions (Sports, Spotlight, Portrait, Sand & Snow).

Digital Effects: Give variety and impact to your recordings by adding Art, Black & White, Sepia and Negative conversion, Mirror-half, Mirror-full, Mosaic, Pastel, Emboss, Color key (red, green, blue or yellow), 16:9 and Cinema effects at the touch of a button.

Photo Mode: You can record still pictures like a photograph for approximately 7 seconds. (Step-up feature from the ES50)

Custom Keys: No more fiddling for the right button. Canon's convenient Custom Keys enable you to personalize your camera by putting the most commonly used functions at your fingertips.
