The easiest way to make great videos! This easy-to-use home video editor is designed for all camcorder users. It works with the camcorder and VCR you already own. Simply watch the video and press the thumbs-up button when you see material you like; thumbs-down for footage you would rather leave behind. Good scenes are recorded on a blank tape. Supports a huge range of VCRs and camcorders. And though simple to operate, Thumbs Up includes advanced editing features like Sony RC and SMPTE VITC time codes. UNCOMPLICATED EDITS

Simply play your video and press the thumbs-up button when good footage appears. Press thumbs-down when you see video you'd rather forget. Thumbs Up automatically records the good scenes on a new tape and leaves the bad ones behind. It's as simple and fast as editing can be!

Thumbs Up works with virtually all camcorders and VCRs. It automatically detects your equipment's capabilities and adjusts itself for optimum performance, taking advantage of advanced features, like timecode and control capabilities.

FADER/ENHANCER

Automatic fade-to-black smoothes scene transitions. Built-in enhancer sharpens the picture as you record.

TITLER/MIXER CONTROL

Thumbs Up can control the Videonics Video TitleMaker or the Digital Video Mixer, automatically placing titles and effects just where you want them.

For simple productions with all equipment, just watch the original tape and use the thumbs-up and thumbs-down buttons to start and pause recording. Only the selected scenes are recorded.

Edit dozens -- or hundreds -- of scenes: Thumbs Up will remember over 200 scenes! Search forward or back, use fast forward and rewind to speed your editing. You can revise your editing points to fine-tune your productions. An on-screen picture of a thumb points up or down so it's easy to see what's in or out -- and just as easy to make changes.

When everything looks good, just press the EDIT button and watch while Thumbs Up does the work. It records the good scenes on a blank tape, automatically stopping and starting the VCR so only the good scenes are recorded.

COMPATIBLE WITH ADVANCED VCRs AND CAMCORDERS

Thumbs Up takes full advantage of camcorders equipped with edit control features (Control-L or Panasonic 5-pin edit control) for fast, automatic productions. It works with both SMPTE VITC and Sony-RC timecodes for greater accuracy.

If you don't have a timecode camcorder, Thumbs Up can make a timecoded copy of the original and edit from that, for timecode accuracy without a timecode camcorder!

MULTI-FORMAT EDITING

Works with all tape formats, including VHS, Super-VHS, VHS-C, Super VHS-C, 8-mm, Hi8, and digital formats. It includes S-video connectors. Your camcorder and VCR can be different formats.

Thumbs Up is available by itself or as part of the Home Video Producer package, with the Videonics Sound Effects Mixer 2000, Videographer's Handbook, and more. * Automatic assembly requires a camcorder with Control-L or Panasonic 5-pin edit control.

Thumbs Up requires a Record VCR with wireless remote control and separate VIDEO and AUDIO inputs. It also requires a camcorder or VCR with separate VIDEO and AUDIO outputs, capable of playing your original tapes. Editing capabilities vary, depending on the camcorder's features.

Thumbs Up 2000 is available separately or as part of the Home Video Producer package.

* To perform these functions, camcorder must be equipped with a real time counter and either Control-L or Panasonic 5-pin edit control. Most 8-mm and Hi8 camcorders have Control-L, including most units from Canon, Sony, Nikon, Ricoh, Yashica, Fujix, and Kyocera.
